The Fairtrade Run gallery is finally up and it consists of 335 pictures taken early this morning after I finished my 5k race at 33 minutes, my second race to date. Just click on the link above or the image at the left to go to the gallery.

Not bad! For my second organized 5k race, it was just a few minutes earlier than my first, a new PR, but the clock would have been better if I wasn’t walking a few meters. But it was good anyway.

During the assembly time of 0430H, it did rain hard that I thought it would be a wet (and refreshing?) run and worried that it might be slippery but minutes before the race started, it stopped. Not too many runners, by the way, as the running community was divided with two races going on at the same time. The other is the 1st Eagle Run held at CDU.

As for the route, it started and finished at the Asiatown IT Park, turned right at Salinas Drive to JY Square, then to Gorordo Ave. For the 5k, it turned back at the intersection of Escario and Gorordo.

What I like about this route is that it’s wide, well paved and some parts are inclined but not too much. There were portions of Salinas Drive which was rather slippery.

TV personality Dyan Castillejo ran and won 5th place in the women’s division and as for the rest of the other women 5k winners, I was really shocked that they were very young and wishing that they will go further with their running talent. As for the foreigners, the Kenyans were missing but there were some Japanese and caucasians.

Of course, the costumed runners were there including Twinkle (an upcoming interview will be posted next month), four in all including one who I pity because of his oversized costume that made it difficult for him to run.
