Racers before the start of the duathlon
The Columbia Trail Masters Duathlon Cebu held yesterday was a blast with participants running and biking through the rugged hills of Central Cebu National Park in Balamban. The weather was cool, foggy during the start but, based on what I saw as I covered the event, very challenging especially the bike ride.

After covering TNF’s Thrill of the Trail in Danao, Bohol, here comes another interesting outdoor event. This time, its a duathlon and will happen in the mountains of Balamban in Cebu. This edition of Columbia’s Trail Masters Duathlon is the second, the first was held at Nuvali last May.
I’m rather tempted to join having experienced, briefly, trail running in Bohol while covering the racers for the first few kilometers. The rough and muddy terrain, crossing a river and several obstacles along the way were challenging but fun!
Now, imagine, a duathlon where racers can either do it alone or as a relay in the rugged hills of the Cebu Central Park, the highest part of the island amidst stunning sceneries with views, on a clear day, Mt. Canlaon in Negros, the tallest mountain in the Visayas. I’m green with envy.
If I won’t be joining the run as part of a relay, I will be shooting.
