I registered for the 21K, Cebu City Marathon 2011

This time, it’s for sure. The Cebu City Marathon 2011 just opened registration and, having arrived in Cebu from Bohol last Saturday, I immediately went to the Active Zone in Ayala Center and registered for the 21KM race distance. No “did not run” status for me like what happened in CamSur, and that is for sure. Come hell or high water, except for some very important event, I will run.
There were two things that made me decide to just shoot in the recently concluded CamSur Marathon 2010:
- I was under trained. With the final race coming, I was busy with my travels that there were “no run” days.
- I was asked by Tey of Smart to shoot and write about SMS’s (Samahang Mananakbo ng Smart) participation and it was all expense paid with pay.
With the race still more than two months away, I’m sure I will be able to train properly and ready myself for my first 21K. As Smart is not a sponsor in the race, I’m very much confident that the company will not ask me. But even if they will, I will have to refuse and run.
I did not procrastinate this time. With the P600 registration, I’m assured of the limited edition New Balance singlet of which only 4,500 will be issued. When I went there last Saturday afternoon, I was told that less than a thousand had just paid.
Check out the main website for more details. Now, it’s time to seriously train for this and shed pounds in the process.
I'm Estan Cabigas, a freelance photographer blogger and traveler. I just started to seriously run last 2 March 2010 and for the past few months, I've improved greatly in my running as well as lost pounds in the process. I'm gunning for a full marathon by 2011. I shoot races as well.
