This race is my first time to cover in Mindanao and I’m thankful of the invitation of TitaniumRunner. Anyway, my apologies for the delay. I got problems with uploading and I was out of circulation for a few days too.

Mayon Trail Run 2011. CLICK TO ENLARGE.

Gear up runners! The very exciting and ultra challenging Mayon Trail Run 2011 will happen this 22 October in Legazpi City, Albay. What’s more, you can get to run in one of the country’s, if not the world’s scenic route with beautiful Mt. Mayon in the background.

According to some runners that I’ve interviewed last year:

Philip Ronoh: “The terrain is quite good and, importantly, varied: roads, steep trails, river, gulley track, boulders…, a nice race to train, build muscles and develop endurance for longer races and at the same time have fun with wonderful sceneries.

Vicente Caurez: It was punishing. Nakakapagod (tiresome) but I just have to keep on running.

John Nino Monte: Napakaganda. Mahirap pero kayang kaya.

Merlita Arias-Dunkin: I really like it here. Not only the very hospitable and very accommodating people, not only for the very challenging trails, but more importantly, it is because of beautiful Mt. Mayon. I will definitely come back next year.

Its a very thrilling and, I think, one of the most important trail runs in the country today. Right now, it will be the fourth year that this has been done. Of course, I will be going to shoot again.

For more information like registrations, 22K is limited to 400 runners only, check out the Mayon Trail Run Facebook page.
