Just one more day to go and it will be the Cebu City Marathon 2010, the first full marathon in the province. What makes this big sporting event memorable is that it goes high tech with the use of ChampionChips. These are just small devices used to time runners that they can wear (organizers advise marathon participants to wear it on their shoes):
…consist of a miniature transponder in a specially designed housing, marked with a unique identification number.
Two main advantages:
- fast and accurate times of the runners
- immediate posting of race results at organizer’s website
This will indeed be an exciting local marathon with results known within minutes!

I'm Estan Cabigas, a freelance photographer blogger and traveler. I just started to seriously run last 2 March 2010 and for the past few months, I've improved greatly in my running as well as lost pounds in the process. I'm gunning for a full marathon by 2011. I shoot races as well.

My flagellant image is Editor's Choice in the National Geographic Magazine May 2010 issue.

Naa na jud improvement sa races dinha sa ato…sa una kay wala jud ka kabalo how you performed during the run basta lng naka-abot sa finish line. It’s motivating when you know how you performed during the run and how you compared to the rest of the runners.
Welcome to running Estan! Tara run tayo nila Charles, Faye at Pam! Palakas tayo ng legs! ako kelangan na lumakas yung ankles ko! Tell me when your in Makati na then let’s meet and run!
Tet, using these timing chips is indeed good not only for spectators but also for participants. It’s really a great help in knowing the outcome of the race the soonest possible.
Brad, I need to start and train pa talaga. When I’m ready, takbo tayo. Bibili na ako ng shoes next week but I have to have my gait checked at RUNNR first!
